Paula Parris

I grew up in the country in New South Wales, Australia — which probably explains a lot about how I see things. I'm drawn to the earthiness of a moment as much as the edge of one. Dancers, musicians, ballerinas, the light in an unexpected place. I shoot for myself, which means I only keep what actually moves me. Robison has been teaching me the technical side of photography for four years now. What he's given me is the ability to chase what I already saw. These prints are the ones we looked at together and couldn't walk away from. I hope you feel the same way.
