New York, 2022. I’d wandered into this alley, found a tiny underground club at the bottom of some stairs — dark, full of cool people — and had a cocktail. On the way out I turned around and this is what was waiting for me. The lanterns, the orange light, the guy on the left with his cigarette, perfectly still while the rest of the alley moved around him.
