Passage

A practice run with a longer exposure on a moving target — not trying to make a photograph so much as work out the mechanics. When I brought the images in and saw this one, something had happened that I hadn't planned for. The blur gave it a quality I couldn't ignore. I leaned in and let the edit find it. What came back didn't look like a photograph anymore.
