Pipes in the Cathedral

Cathedral Rock in Sedona is a short but strenuous hike — especially with 30 pounds of camera gear on your back. A bit winded from the climb, I was leaning against a rock to catch my breath when I heard bagpipes.

It was surreal. I looked up and saw this woman standing on the edge of the cliff, playing Amazing Grace into the canyon. She'd carried her own gear up the same mountain and still had enough wind in her sails to make this hike more special than I could have imagined.
