Revealed

Leo Carrillo. Sometimes I arrive with a specific shot in mind. Other times the intention is simply to be present — to move through the terrain slowly and stay open to what the light and the landscape are willing to offer. Patience isn't passive. You're still working, still reading the environment, still ready. This particular morning I was making my way across the rocks when the sun came up behind the mountains and the surf moved in behind the arch at exactly the right moment. There it was. I'd stepped back far enough to take in the full scene, and when I looked at it later the width was where all the life was — the rest fell away naturally.
