The Impossible Moon

I ran into an old friend on the trail that morning and we got to talking about photography — she'd been shooting on her iPhone and was getting into it seriously. I started telling her about what a full frame camera can do, and this was my demonstration. Expose for the moon and the mountains disappear. Expose for the mountains and the moon blows out. Two exposures, combined in post, and suddenly the frame that couldn't exist in a single shot becomes possible. I'd forgotten about it until a few weeks later when I was loading other images. I completed the exercise and was so pleased it finds a home here.
